Bailey Richelle Martin, age 25, of Smith County Road 129 in the White Oak area was arrested Tuesday, June 23, 2009, by the Smith County Sheriff’s Department on a warrant out of Rankin County for conspiracy to possess methamphetamine. She is being held at the Rankin County jail in reference to the arrest by Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics in a round up of suspects as they complete their investigations into Mississippi’s largest ever methamphetamine ring.

We appreciate the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and Rankin County Sheriff’s Department on this matter. This incident with Mrs. Martin has hit to close to home, said Sheriff Charlie Crumpton.

As of Tuesday morning on June 23, MBN agents executed ten state search warrants in Hinds, Lincoln, Pike, Rankin, and Walthall counties. Arrest were made here in Smith County along with Hancock, Harrison, Leake and Pontotoc counties.

In the course of the investigation, approximately 50 pounds of Mexican “Ice” methamphetamine with a street value of more than $1.5 million dollars was seized.

MBN Officers have also seized 17 vehicles, two tractors, 110 weapons and approximately $60,000 in U.S. currency and cahier’s checks and recovered three stolen ATV’s, a stolen motorcycle and a tractor stolen in Zachary, LA.
